Kadria Skincare Belly Balm With Rosehip And Neroli

And now for something completely different....

A review of a Kadria Skincare’s Belly Balm. No, that’s not a book, it’s one of a range of natural products for pregnancy, mother and baby, which was sent to me to trial and review.

Let me first explain that, being 28 weeks into my second pregnancy, I come to this with a certain level of experience and dare I say cynicism.

First time around, I was keen to avoid stretch marks if at all possible, and invested in an expensive, lurid-coloured oil from a major beauty brand, touted by celebs as a wondrous elixir.

Being slight of frame and delivered of an 8lb 12 bouncing baby boy may have had something to do with it, but needless to say I have many a stretch mark.

Up until now, I have been pretty neglectful of the skin on my tummy during this pregnancy, not even using normal moisturiser on it as I find the coldness of it annoying after a nice warm bath or shower. Also, because the skin is quite smooth in its current state, I find it just glides around, taking a long time to sink in, which means precious time loitering before dressing is needed to avoid getting cream all over my clothing.

Which is where this balm comes in. Different in texture to creams and oils, it has a more room temperature feel about it, and is somehow dryer, if that makes sense. Scooping a little of the soft waxy balm out of the dinky jar and rubbing it around my tummy was a pleasant experience – a little moisture and massage for skin which is, afterall, doing a lot of work at the moment, and perhaps needs a bit of thanks, even if it’s never going to look that pretty again.

It made my skin feel soft and moisturised without being oily or over-saturated, and in no way felt messy or uncomfortable.

I put my clothes straight on and there was no transfer of oil to my vest top, but when it came to getting ready for bed I noticed my skin still felt lovely and soft and moisturised. The smell of the balm was pleasant but not overpowering, and it caused me no irritation at all, which I can sometimes be prone to.

All in all I was very impressed with Belly Balm. You can check out and buy this and other Kadria Skincare products on the website kadriaskincare.com.

Note: I was sent this product free of charge by Kadria Skincare to test and review. All views are my own, completely honest and unbiased.
